Pete Roberts' Radio Services

The 1960s Transistor Workshop

Welcome to my revamped website devoted to repairing vintage transistor radios from the mid-20th century.  Also coming will be updated pages describing the radio scene during my teen years plus assorted reminisces from that magical decade: the Swinging Sixties.

Those who have read my "mission statement" will know that I had to give up my full-time job due to a heart attack back in 2001.  Well, it looks as though I've just had another near miss so after a frank discussion with those charged with keeping my carcass alive and kicking, I'd originally decided to cease repairs completely.  However I've received so many encouraging emails I've been persuaded to continue my repair service but I'm restricting it to transistor radios from the Fab Fifties, Swinging Sixties and Sexy Seventies, including vintage transistor car radios.

Please feel free to call my mobile number: 07794 329 912 but bear in mind that unlike with some folk my life doesn't revolve around my mobile.  If it's turned off or you get no reply please try later, or better still email.  Incidentally, I used to do quite a few instrument repairs and am quite happy to fix temperature and other process control gear.

I'd like to thank customers past and present for their support (and forbearance), and as a continued service to the vintage radio community would be willing to diagnose faults free of charge for fellow enthusiasts at their premises on one condition: they arrange transport for me (I don't drive), and feed me!  What do I get out of this? A chance to see more of the country, it'll get me out of the daily rut, as well as supply material for writing technical articles, something I used to do quite well.
