Westinghouse model RG11P28A
Westinghouse model RG11P28A

A long model number for a small (100x100x37mm) American radio that has been obviously styled for the ladies with its cute carry case.  Serial number is 00094 and the all-germanium circuitry puts the date of manufacture to be early to mid-Sixties.  As far as I can tell the circuit uses eight transistors in a conventional superhet design covering medium wave.  A self-oscillating mixer is followed by two IF stages and a diode detector.  The two audio stages drive a totem pole type output stage via a transformer.  Internal construction is super compact. Compare sizes with that of the battery. The polyvaricon type tuning capacitor (top left) is the smallest dual gang I've come across.  The radio is in excellent condition but for a couple of small scratches on the speaker grille.
