Aubert Court and the Association
Aubert Court is a council estate situated in Gillespie ward in Highbury (London Borough of Islington) to the south of the Arsenal Football Club. Aubert Court was built in the early 1950s on the site of the fire-damaged St John's College, a religious training institute (the area to the back of the estate is believed to be consecrated by some of the older tenants). The land on which the present day Arsenal Football Club stands was sold to the club by the college early last century; it was originally the college's playing field.

The Association represents everyone at Aubert Court (including leaseholders) and meets regularly in the community centre.  We also publish a quarterly newsletter to which everyone is invited to contribute. The Association is affiliated to FITA (the Federation of Islington Tenants' Associations); the umbrella organisation for all Islington tenants and residents groups.
