LOTR - Bag End Inn: Gondor

One of the Dunedain Kingdoms in Middle-earth, founded by Elendil in SA 3320, and committed by him to the joint rule of his sons, Isildur and Anarion. The chief cities of Gondor were, Osgiliath, Minas Anor, Minas Ithil, Dol Amroth, and Pelargir. Minas Tirith was the name given to Minas Anor after the fall of Minas Ithil in TA 2002. Minas Tirith was built on seven levels on the Hill of Guard. From its founding, Gondor was always under attack by Sauron or his allies. After the death of Elendil in SA 3441, Gondor was ruled by the line of Anarion, until it failed in TA 2050. From that time, until the restoration of the Kingdon by Elessar in 3019, Gondor was governed by the Ruling Stewards. Also called the South-Kingdon.
