VENUE: Exmouth Arms, Starcross Street, London  NW1 2HR (on the corner of Cobourg Street, near Euston and Euston Square stations; parking is easy), on Saturdays at 8.15pm.

ENTRANCE: Members: £5, non-members:£6 (unwaged £1 less) except on nights marked *, when it will be £6 and £7.  Membership: £2 for the year.

ACCESS: The club room is up a short staircase.

6 SEPT: PETE COOPER (master fiddler and singer, who also teaches fiddle and writes the odd song and tune; traditional and contemporary songs and music)

13 SEPT: KITTYHAWKS (old-time band with songs and tunes from foot-tapping stomps to dark laments, on banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and bass)

20 SEPT: FRANK WESTON AND DAVE STACEY (great old-time duo with wide repertoire of songs and tunes played on banjo and guitar)

27 SEPT: WHITE TOP MOUNTAIN BAND (excellent old-time band from the US; songs and tunes on various instruments; highly recommended by old-time aficionados)


11 OCT: ADAM McNAUGHTAN (Scotland’s wittiest songwriter – Oor Hamlet, Cholesterol, etc – also writes great serious songs, eg, Yellow on the Broom)

18 OCT: GORDEANNA McCULLOCH and  CHRIS MILES (two of Scotland’s best singers of traditional and other songs, some in harmony).  Presented in association with the Musical Traditions Club.

25 OCT: ROSIE DAVIS, JOE LOCKER AND BOB WINQUIST (old-time songs and
tunes, plus dancing, from well-known performers, veterans of various bands)

1 NOV*: NANCY KERR AND JAMES FAGAN (popular young duo; fiddle and guitar).  Please note admission tonight will be £6 and £7

8 NOV: ROBIN LAING (an evening in two halves from fine Scottish singer: songs of love, Burns songs, etc, and his whisky show, with free samples of whisky)


22 NOV: DAVE SEALEY (former half of Cosmotheka, singing music hall and other songs)

29 NOV*: DICK GAUGHAN (popular Scots singer of mainly political songs).  Please note admission tonight will be £6 and £7

6 DEC: STANLEY ACCRINGTON (funny, inventive and wonderfully silly songwriter and performer)

13 DEC*: DAVE SWARBRICK (brilliant fiddler, who used to play with Martin Carthy, Fairport Convention, Whippersnapper, the Ian Campbell Folk Group, etc).  Please note admission tonight will be £6 and £7


2009

3 JAN: DUCK SOUP (Dan Quinn, Ian Kearey and Adam Bushell; songs and tunes on various instruments from former members of Oyster Band, Gas Mark 5, etc)

10 JAN: VICKI SWAN and JONNY DYER (talented young duo, traditional songs and tunes on small pipes, flute, guitar, nyckelharpa, accordion and double bass)

17 JAN: KLEZMER KLUB (popular band playing Jewish traditional music and songs)
