Welcome to my webpage devoted to 1/18 scale model cars. I started collecting since I got my first model as a Christmas present in 1995 but I really got going from 2000 onwards. This site will have reviews on some of the cars I have and a bit on the real car and my advice on whether or not to buy them. I feel that Exoto, GMP are the best diecast model manufacturers with AUTOart Kyosho, the Beanstalk Group and Minichamps slightly behind where Anson and Bburago are the worst with the others (Yat Ming, Maisto, Sun Star, UT Models, Revell, Ertl and many more) in between, not because of the car that is being made but because of the quality and effort (or the lack of it) that went in to designing and manufacturing the model - BMW and Ferrari have made some of the world's finest cars but Anson's and Bburago's models of them do not do them justice - usually there is too much plastic in their bodywork or parts of the car (i.e. engines) are made from a single moulded piece of plastic. Even the paint can be incomplete. However, there are some manufacturers who do an exceptional job of making their models by taking multiple photos of the real car and replicating it on a 1/18 scale. Kyosho and AUTOart also do great jobs with their use of carpeting in the interior. You can just notice the quality by holding the car - usually the heavier the better. At the end of each (absolutely subjective) model review has a score out of 10.
