Screenplay Development Notes / Script Coverage Service
Screenplay Development Notes / Script Coverage Service
Screenplay Development Notes at a Very Fair Price

Greetings to those interested in receiving "development notes" on their film screenplay for a very affordable price.

WHO I AM...

I have worked for two indie NYC production companies in the capacity as a Script Reader. One is Andrew Lauren Productions (The Squid and the Whale*) and the other Forensic Films (Raising Victor Vargas).

*Which won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting award at Sundance (2005), and nominated for an Oscar in Best Screenplay Cat. (2006)

WHAT YOU GET...

Aside from receiving the minimum of a six page 12pt font review of your material (Page-by-Page Notes & Overall Comments including notes on Concept, Story, Character & Dialogue, plus more) via e-mail, expect your notes to be turned around within 3 days, once (check or PayPal) payment is confirmed. The service also includes email conversation/ questions on notes, for clarification if needed.

One client was lucky enough to receive a FOURTEEN page review - of course it can differ from script-to-script. In addition, I have been used for consultation by one person on five occasions now. Also, one person recently clamped down an option on a script I reviewed. Another development funds.

All this for $100

Why use me when there's a million others out there?

Well, how much do other companies charge for Development Notes? The answer: Quite a lot. Have a Google or gander below...

Also, don’t get COVERAGE confused with DEVELOPMENT NOTES. Coverage will normally consist of just three pages, and one of them will be your synopsis of your own story! Why would you want that when you already know your story? Coverage is what Directors of Development/ Execs at companies read to evaluate your story before reading your script, or in most cases, won’t be reading your script.

Development Notes are just that, a detailed listings, often page-by-page, that point out what works and what doesn’t, and if it doesn’t work, then I will advise and give suggestions on how to fix it. Development Notes are far more detailed and helpful with re-writes. My development notes roll in at a minimum of 6pgs. Compare that to Coverage notes and you realize you get 50% EXTRA!

“Received your notes back from my script. An absolutely awesome, detailed review. I agree with 98% of your assessment and will be implementing them into my re-write. I’ve used other script consultants [Script Pimp] in the past, buy you are truly the first to provide me with the kind of notes that really make a difference. I will definitely use your service on our future scripts.”

“Thanks very much for the detailed and insightful notes. I’ve read through them and there’s a lot that makes sense. When I have some time I’m going to give “XXXX” a major rewrite and will definitely turn back to your notes to guide me.”

"I think I'm having a deeply religious experience, I keep falling to my knees and saying "Oh my God!" over and over.

Thanks much for taking the time, I appreciate your feedback. I knew the script was in no way perfect but I'd no idea it was THAT screwed. The more I read your notes, the louder the alarm bells rang until I couldn't hear myself think any more. Yeah, it's THAT screwed. I'll be going over your notes again line by line but it's fairly obvious I'm in deep trouble -- big chunks of the script just ain't working and the overall product is a royal mess. Talk about being blind to your own mistakes!"

"The notes were extremely useful as were the web links you sent. Who knows what the future will bring but I do intend a re-write using your advice & have filed away your email address - I would like you to see the changes & advise on them at some point..."

"I agree with pretty much all of your notes and will re-write shortly. I also have a 26 page treatment that I may like feedback on - do you provide notes on treatments?"

"Thanks for the feedback. Honest, harsh but very true. Has got me thinking as to how approach this story in a very different way. Lots of food for thought."

"I received them and they were thorough and thought-provoking and brought things into relief that need work. I'll take a couple of days to digest them and I'll email with a few questions if that's o.k.. Thanks again for the guidance, also for the speed of your service."
