As you would expect from a Blacksmith, we specialise in general metal work. Whether it be garden gates, railings, furniture, ornamental furniture, repairs, restorations, vehicle welding, etc that you require, you can rely on quality workmanship. What ever your needs, ideas or desires the Smithy will accommodate you with our friendly no fuss service.

Needing those new gates, railings etc fitted, look no further. At very reasonable prices we can accommodate such requests in a professional and efficient manner.

Craft Shop

Looking for that ideal gift? Or something for your home? then why not visit our newly opened craft shop. You will find lots of ornaments and furniture which will grace any home or garden at affordable prices. From candlestick holders to birdbaths we’ve got it! You will not be disappointed.

About the Smithy

The Smithy is a family run business, which is located on the east side of Dechmont, which is a small village on the outskirts of Livingston in West Lothian. The Smithy is on the opposite side of Dechmont riding school. You cant miss us!

With over four generations of blacksmith experience in the Cairns family, which spans over 70 years, the Smithy has gained a reputation of high quality work at very affordable prices. This has resulted in a loyal and growing customer base.

We can assure you that all job requests will be considered and that all enquiries will be dealt with in a professional and efficient manner.

Monday to Friday 10am to 2.30pm

Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm
