Peter Rainbow
I started playing guitar when I was about 11 years old. My first band came along a couple of years later. Our first ever gig was a youth talent show at Lloyds Park pavilion Walthamstow. Next was a band called Vox Deus. We played a large charity gig at a school in Pimlico although my first pub gig was at the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town. Then came
a couple of heavy metal bands, the first being Sinner. We were featured on a
compilation album on Ebony records and played a lot of pub gigs mainly around
east London. The band lasted about three years. Then with the vocalist from
Sinner we formed a band called Soldier of Fortune, concentrating mainly on
recording and gained interest from Radio 1's Tommy Vance and some record labels.
Then came Street Legal, played many gigs including London's Marquee club, some
gigs in France and got some air play of our demo on BBC Radio Kent.
Incidentally, this line-up featured Dragon drummer Peter Cowan. I then started playing in cover bands, the
first being Mainline where we did some extensive gigging in pubs and clubs all
around London and Essex for about two years before joining Dragon. Favourite Guitar Players Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, Gary Moore, Eddie Van Halen Guitars used
