Statement of Beliefs
My Beliefs.

The Universe and all Creation came from one source. Call it God; call it Magick; call it the Holy Fart if you really want to! I don't know what it was; I don't think it really had an intelligence as we would recognise it - it merely was. I call it the Divine.
All Creation originated in the Divine; and thus there is a portion of the Divine in everything. You, me, this computer, that tree, the cat curled up by my feet - the Earth beneath our feet.

In time, people came together; and seeking something to believe in, they invented Gods. Each God was created by the shared Divine, and shaped by their collective subconscious. The more worshippers a God had, the more powerful that God became; but it was limited by the personalities of the people who worshipped it.

All religions are inventions of Man. Just because Man has an ego and cannot accept it, he has had to externalise it into "God". God can do all the things that Man is "forbidden" to do - such as kill people, perform miracles to gratify his will, control without responsibility, etc. If Man needs such a God and recognises that God, then he is worshipping an entity that other human beings invented - he is worshipping by proxy the man who invented "God".
However, humans have an intrinsic need to believe in something. And over time, Man has invented quite a few Gods to fulfill various needs. But at the end of the day - ALL GODS ARE INVENTED BY MAN!!!!

If you are going to believe in something, why settle for someone else's creation? Create your own - or recognise that spark of the Divine within you. Learn to love and worship Self!

I have no superiors; only equals - and inferiors. I am a part of creation; no less, no more.

Think about all the so-called sins. What, after all, is so bad about them? They all lead to physical or emotional gratification. Thething they all have in common is that they all directly relate to love of Self over God. This, according to religious doctrine, is Bad. Love of Self over God is a sin deriving from Satan, according to the Christian doctrines.

So what!! According to the Christians, I am evil, sinful, a Satanist. Others would view it as Humanism.

Good and Evil depends on your viewpoint!!

So, am I, then, a Satanist? I say no. I term myself a witch. I am not a Wiccan, although my reverence for the Earth - based on acknowledgement that we share in the Divine, and knowledge that this Earth is our home and source of life - is similar. Indeed, I was initiated into an Alexandrian coven at age 17, and later joined a Gardnerian coven with whom I attained 3rd degree. But I no longer term myself Wiccan.
Many of my beliefs are similar to Humanism; and indeed Satanism and Humanism are near-identical; the only difference being that Humanism is a way of life with no ceremony or dogma, whereas Satanism recognises the human need for ceremony and ritual, and incorporates both. My beliefs also acknowledge this need; but the ceremonies I use bear no relation to the deliberately dark overtones of Satanism. When I perform a ritual, it is to put me into the right frame of mind and to focus my energies, ready for the working of magick - which, after all, is simply the utilisation of the Divine to impose your will upon reality. As Aleister Crowley dictated: "Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law; Love under Will."

So; do I believe in God and Christ? I acknowledge their existance; I choose not to worship them. I am not a Satanist. I am not a Wiccan. I am not your typical Pagan.

I am a Witch.
