MY FREEMASONRY
I am a Freemason - and I'm proud of it - having been Initiated into Paddington Rifles Lodge, No. 2807, over 30 years ago. I have since joined Military Lodge, No. 2621, Scrutator Lodge, No. 9379, Admiral Lord Nelson, No. 9782 (as a Founder member), and Thirkill Lodge, No. 7333., and I've passed through the Master's Chair on 3 previous occasions. I am currently the Worshipful Master of Thirkill Lodge - my 4th time in the Chair. These Lodges, all under the United Grand Lodge of England, are spread over London, Cambridge and Norfolk.
As a result of my interest and effort I have been honoured with the rank of Senior London Grand Rank in the Craft. I am also a Scrutineer at the Porch of Grand Lodge, - I verify that those attending are who they say they are, that they are correctly dressed according to their rank, and that they are entitled to attend Grand Lodge proceedings (Current Wardens, Masters and above). You will find me behind one of the 'Signing In' desks on Grand Lodge days (usually 3rd book on right as you go in) - and in the 'Pillars of Hercules' afterwards! Please make yourself known to me.
For my sins, I also belong to 3 Royal Arch Chapters, (I am honoured to be a Grand Officer), and I'm a member of Mark, Ark, Rose Croix and Knights Templar.
Thank God that my wife understands - she is also a Lady Freemason (Order of Women's Freemasonry) - and is a Past Master of her Lodge, Lodge Granta, No. 41.
