BLANKET, WOOL, od, M-1934

COMFORTER, WOOL FILLED

BAG, SLEEPING, WOOL
This bag has the warmth of about two 4-pound blankets when used with the water-repellent case. It is not intended for really cold weather, but is adequate down to about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It may be used inside other sleeping bags to give additional warmth. Several bags may be used one inside the other. Like all sleeping bags, it has a mummy shape, a hood, and a quick-release slide fastener.

BAG, SLEEPING, ARCTIC
This bag is used in extremely cold weather. It consists of two down and feather filled cases, the inner one being a regular mountain bag. The outer case has a hood and a full mummy shape, but is closed with snaps. The two cases may be tied together by means of the tapes at the foot of each bag. When the weather is only moderately cold and it is important to cut down on weight the outer case may be left at the base.

CASE, WATER-REPELLENT, BAG, SLEEPING
This case, water-repellent, bag, sleeping, is made of poplin and provides a wind resistant cover for the bag, sleeping. It is ordinarily used with all sleeping bags. In warm weather, where little protection is needed, the case may be used alone. Two openings in the seam at the foot of the case, water-repellent, bag, sleeping, allow the tie straps on sleeping bags to be drawn to the outside to hold the items in a compact unit when rolled.

LINER, BAG, SLEEPING
LIMITED STANDARD – To be issued until exhausted
A washable sleeping bag liner which fits all types of sleeping bags. It adds somewhat to the warmth of the bag and keeps it a good deal cleaner. It should always be used with the mountain and Arctic sleeping bags, and may be used if desired with the more easily laundered wool sleeping bag. In cold weather the liner hood flap may be made into the shape of a funnel to catch moisture from the breath, or may be pulled inside the bag to keep drafts from going down past the shoulders.

ROLL, BEDDING, WATERPROOFED, M-1935
Roll, bedding, waterproofed, M-1935, is a water-repellent treated fabric roll to be used for carrying bedding and other articles of personal equipment or clothing. When unrolled it may be used as a groundsheet.

BAR, INSECT, FIELD
Is a netting canopy of relatively small mesh, designed for protection against sandflies and other small insects as well as mosquitoes.  It has been basically designed for use with the shelter, tent, having ties that correspond in location to the pegs of the tent, but it may also be used over cots or hospital beds.

BAR, INSECT, FIELD, MILDEW RESISTANT
This is the same as the bar, insect, field, but is treated to make it mildew resistant.

BAR, MOSQUITO
The bar, mosquito, was originally designed for barracks use, and is provided with a wide skirt of sheeting around the bottom to prevent damage when tucked in at the bottom of a metal wire-spring cot.  For field use this item has been replaced by the bar, insect, field, mildew resistant, which has a smaller mesh, and thereby protects against sandflies and other small insects as well as mosquitoes.

HEADNET, MOSQUITO, M-1944
A mosquito headnet with an elastic suspension which fits either over the head or helmet.  The net fits over the collar in back and is held in place in front by two elastic loops which attach to the pocket buttons. Grommets hold the netting away from the face and neck even when the wearer is sleeping.
