SHOES, SERVICE, WOMEN’S, LOW.
Shoes, service, women’s, low, are stylish brown oxfords built for comfort. They have 1 1/2 ½-inch heels, rubber lifts and leather soles.
SHOES, FIELD, WOMEN’S COMPOSITION-SOLE
Standard shoe for the WAC and Army Nurses’ Corps for drill and field usage. It has a composition sole and heel which provide adequate serviceability. This shoe is made over the same last as boots, service, combat, women’s, and therefore firs comparably.
BOOTS, SERVICE, COMBAT, WOMEN’S
Similar in design and construction to the boots, service, combat, for men, these shoes are intended for heavy field usage for WACs and Nurses. They are made over the same last as shoes, field, women’s, and therefore provide comparable fit and comfort.
OVERSHOES, LOW, WOMEN’S
A storm rubber type overshoe which fits all three of the low types of shoes and is especially designed for long wear, having reinforced toes and soles. The size of the rubber corresponds with the size of the shoes.
OVERSHOES, ARCTIC, WOMEN’S, ALL-RUBBER, LACE-TYPE
An all rubber overshoe, utilising a laced type of closure, which supersedes all other types of women’s overshoes. Due to the laced type of closure, it will accommodate several layers of clothing about the leg when required for cold-wet usage.
OVERSHOES, ARCTIC, WOMEN’S, 4-BUCKLES
This fabric top overshoe has been superseded by the all rubber, laced type of Arctic overshoe.
OVERSHOES, ARCTIC, WOMEN’S, 4-BUCKLES, M-1944
This item has been superseded by overshoes, Arctic, women’s, all-rubber, lace type. It utilizes a fabric top and will fit over boots, service , combat, women’s and / or shoes, field, women’s, composition sole.
SHOES, FELT, WOMEN’S
Wool felt shoes, approximately 6 inches high, plain toe, blucher type with a red felt lining and felt outersole, heel, tongue, counter and toe box. They close with eyelets and laces.
OVERSHOES, ARCTIC, COLD-CLIMATE, WOMEN’S
A fabric type overshoe, worn over shoes, felt, women’s that provides adequate protection in extreme cold and wet-cold areas.
INSOLES, FELT, BLOCKER-TYPE
These are felt insoles for replacement to be cut by the personnel in the field to the shape required. The insole is used for insulation and to absorb moisture. It is kept in the boot or shoe only when actually being used. As soon as the footwear is taken off it must be removed and dried.
LEGGINGS, CANVAS, WOMEN’S
Leggings, canvas, women’s, are similar to the leggings worn by the enlisted men. They are for wear normally with the herringbone twill trousers for protection in the field and against insects.
STOCKINGS, WOOL, KNEE LENGTH, WOMEN’S
A medium weight, 75% wool 25% cotton stocking with cuff which can be turned up and worn over the knee if desired. The heels and toes are reinforced with spun nylon.
SOCKS, WOOL, SKI
A heavy weight sock for use with cold weather footgear.
ANKLETS, WOOL, WOMEN’S
A medium weight, all-wool sock. English rib design with cuff. The heel and toes are reinforced with cotton.
STOCKINGS, RAYON, WOMEN’S
A medium weight, viscose rayon stocking. It is full-fashioned with 4 1/2 inch garter top and reinforced foot.
STOCKINGS, COTTON, BEIGE, WOMEN’S
A medium weight, mercerised lisle stocking. It is full-fashioned with 4 1/2 inch garter top and reinforced foot.
