Shine is homebred.
True was accidentally mismated by Dillon on the last day of her season, in June 2002. Although the vet assured me she wouldn't get pregnant as it was so late, I decided I'd rather be safe than sorry, and had the misalliance injections done, 3 and 5 days post mating.
We all know how stubborn ACD's can be, Shine and her brother hung in there, stayed well hidden until 7 weeks, and were born by caesarean a week later.
Shine is such a character, very happy and busy, busy, busy. She's very intelligent, affectionate- and stubborn, Shine's happy to oblige me as long as I want her to do whatever I'm doing! 'Stay' commands expire after 10 seconds, don't you know! We're working on it. She's also begun training for agility, and the instructors are constantly commenting on how confident she is- no surprise there, this is the dog who escaped her puppy pen and did the grand tour of the house, meeting me on the stairs, at only 3 weeks old.
Shine gained her KC Puppy Obedience Certificate at just 12 weeks, and is currently training for her Gold CGC, having already attained the Silver. Her show career is off to a flying start, at the ACD Society of GB Open Show at Devon County, she won BPIS and pipped her mum for Best Bitch, and at the ACD Society 2003 show, she won Junior Bitch and went on to become Reserve Best Bitch In Show.
