Autism (our worlds Apart)
This is a page dedicated to my beautiful son! His name is Elliott Antonio and he has Autism. When peeps hear that word there are many judgments made as many do not understand what it is or why it happens! Then there are those of you who simply do not care or want to find out. You are the peeps who pass comment on others parenting skills and critisize the behaviour of these beautiful kids! This page will inform you! Help you to understand what the world of Autism is like! WELCOME ALL!
Elliott Antonio was a Beautiful baby and indeed, as he is now well on his way to being 6years young, is even more so! He developed normally until he had the contriversial (MMR) Vaccination. Soon after, He became ill and withdrawn. As a concerned mummy, I took him on many occasions to our local Hospital as his condition deteriorated. I have no doubt that the MMR is responsible!! Elliotts speach was lost, As was my little boy! He started to scream constantly, Day and Night. He would self harm and lost his awareness of danger and didnt seem to know who I was anymore. He was unconsolable! And I was too! The (Happy Go Lucky) toddler that was once...was all but gone. I became overwhelmed and to be honest, I couldnt seem to cope! It took me a year to get a final diagnosis...which I had to fight to get. I had an insight already of Autism, as I had trained in the subject briefly at College in my teens.

CRUEL COMMENTS
I think that one of the hardest things to deal with along with living with Autism, Is the Cruelness of others that do not understand. They dont seem to want to...Do You?
To know him is to love him...To love him is to know him! All Autistic Kids have a Great Beauty and innocence that we may never know. That is a great sadness for us but an attribute to them!
Elliott Antonio looks as he is, Thats to say (perfectly Normal) He Isnt unusual. He is just a Special Little Boy! All Kids are. We Love them and Protect them. We cry with them and giggle with them...Often, We giggle at the things they do! Some parents giggle at the Statements they make.In Our world things are not as simple.Elliott has little speech.Sometimes he Giggles when he is frightened. Sometimes he Giggles when hes happy...Its difficult to know with an Autistic kid, What they are thinking. They use inappropriate behaviour at times and this leads Peeps to think that they are Being Rude!
There have been times when I wanted things to be different regarding Elliotts Autism. Dare I say...I wished for it to (Go Away) Now I realise that if I took away the Autism, I wouldnt have Elliott!
What Is AUTISM?

Isolation!  No eye Contact!  Bizzarre Behaviour!  Inapropriate Laughing! Displays of Indifference!
The word (Autistic)and (Autism) come from the Greek Word(Autos) which means...Self! The Reason this word is used to describe this Group of People relates to their Isolation From the Usual Social Interaction!
Autism affects more males than females!  The Ratio is4.1 Overall! However...With profound or severe learning Difficulties... The excess of males is much less marked! It affects all peeps with  All types of Ability!
And Further to all that...He Would Never Judge You...He Has Innocence and Love in his Heart!
Elliott Antonio is a Happy Go Lucky Kid! Full of Fun and Life!
Autism is caused by the combination of threeparticular impairments, each one of theses three impairmentscan vary in severity
Elliott Antonio is Gifted in Many Ways and has Many Abilities!
When I became Pregnant with Elliott, Who at that stage had no name, I had to think Carefully about the future. I was in a Fragile Relationship, although it was 3 years young! I made a choice to be a Mummy! I have no regrets! I had a Very Long and Painful Labour...was over 24 hours! (owch) It was worth it! Elliott Maybe AUTISTIC but he is Perfect...as all kids are!
In addition to these three impairments, people with Autism can also be affected by Learning problems, which can also vary in severity!
WE STAND ALONE
When we have a child with an Apparent (Disability) We carry on Regardless! This is because, In our eyes...We see the Ability 1st! And thats what Autistic Kids Have...However...
We Do Not.
We went to see what the world was about, but we did not get the answers we had imagined. There were faces everywhere looking at us and then they all too soon shied away. We are the same as you but very different, you can ask you know, but to turn away is easier and to judge is wrong! So we stand alone and find the world is not welcoming and has little emotion.
Each person with Autism has their own Individual Persnonality and is a UNIQUE individual, just as you are!
