About health
Over the last two years I have developed a sensitivity to some chemicals that we use on our bodies, and in the house. Although I used to suffer from asthma the symptoms have been like hayfever, with stinging, watering eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itchy throat, and sometimes a cough, or lose my voice. I am concerned that asthma will return. I also have food intolerances and think this is connected.

The cause
The main offender has been air freshner spray, perfumes, deodorants, cigarette smoke and glue, ink, and new carpets. I have been alarmed at the toxic chemicals found in personal care products. Creams, especially creams for rashes, affects me in the same way too. I am also sensitive to aspirin (gave me severe bronchial spasm), and penicillin.

Health Matters
It has got me searching the internet for more about this and in some ways I think my allergy has made me think about the environment more, and the health of my family. My pet, Susie, was warning me something was wrong when she barked as I sprayed the hairspray. This one of the down sides to modern life.
I have found out that I am diabetic so have been reading all about this condition. I have lost over 2 stone in weight so look better but am still losing weight. Finding the right balance that is the continual battle.
