Geordie the postman
Geordie is a postman
the best theres ever been
working hard from morn till night
and sometimes in between.
He trundles round the streets
poking letters here and there
what joy and happiness he gives
to people everywhere.
He knocks so hard upon the doors
arousing all inside
the canny bairns cry out in fear
the cats and dogs all hide
"gerrup" he shouts in morning light
a package in his grasp
"I haven't got all day you know
I've let the time elapse"
To his work, Geordie is
Reliable and true
against all odds and aching feet
he gets the letters through.
For many years he carries on
his duty he endures
untill one day he feels unwell
alas! there are no cures.
Geordie is a postman
the best theres ever been
now he delivers letters
In some place more serene.

Fruit Cake
Sadie is a plump girl
Curvaceous to her friends,
She does her best to diet
Tries all the latest trends.
She turns her head quite sharply
When faced with tarts and cream,
and chocolates and trifles
to eat, she'd never dream.
However there is one thing
she never can resist,
A lovely piece of fruit cake
She shoves in with her fist.
