Mosterton Protestations

In 1641 an order of Parliament asked all males over the age of 18 to

  • declare their loyalty to the Protestant religion
  • recognise the power and privilege of Parliament

Below are the names of the Mosterton men who signed the return.

The original returns are held by the House of Lords Record Office but Dorset Record Office hold the following papers:

  • Photocopy of The Dorset Protestation Returns Preserved in the House of Lords 1641 - 1642 edited by Edward Alexander Fry (Dorset records 1912)
