MERE VOICES – Love, Life and Lardy Cake with ARCHIVE FILM
7.30p.m. The Grove Buildings
A fascinating evening of local history through archive film presented by rural media charity TRILITH and recordings from the Mere & District Oral History Project.
Mere Voices was launched at last year’s festival in co-operation with Mere Museum. Volunteers, under the guidance of Trilith, have recorded hours of reminiscences about Mere, Stourton and Maiden Bradley. These have been condensed into a CD ‘Love, Life and Lardy Cake’ giving a vivid impression of a way of life now receding into history in the words of the people who lived it.
