Winners and Judges
There were a total of 366 adult entries in the Open Short Story competition and thanks go to all who entered for their support of our charity The Mere & District Linkscheme .
Each story, identified only by its title and competition number, was read at least twice and 25 stories were short-listed to be judged by best selling novelist Katie Fforde.
All short-listed stories receive a Certificate of Distinction.
In her adjudication Katie Fforde remarked on the high standard of the short-list and advised those not in the winning frame to enter their stories in other competitions.

Festival Open Competition  - judged by Katie Fforde.
Best selling novelist, Katie Fforde,has received high praise from reviewers for her delicious books which includes Living Dangerously, Stately Pursuits, Thyme out and Paradise Fields.

Local Competition  Kindly sponsored by Mere & District Chamber of Trade judged by Jo Barnes.
Jo Barnes is a Wiltshire county senior librarian with responsibility for special needs. She has worked for the Library Service for over thirty years and covers the Salisbury area which includes Mere. She is a keen reader of all types of fiction and learnt her love of short stories from an early reading of Somerset Maugham.

Junior Competition  -  judged by Sally-Ann Parry.
Sally-Ann Parry is the Mere Library Supervisor and particularly enjoys working with children. She regularly reviews books for the Wiltshire Libraries Carnegie selection.
