This year’s Short Story competition is officially launched on March 1st. and closes on July 11th.
Mere is an excellent base for a short break - nestling beneath the Downs it is steeped in history and full of secrets and surprises. While you take up your literary pursuits the rest of the family can explore, climb Castle Hill, walk on White Sheet Nature Reserve, go clay pigeon shooting or visit nearby Stourhead Gardens or Longleat House.
Contact Mere Information Centre on 01747 861211 for hotel and B&B accommodation.
