            Mistley Movers Line Dance Club
About us

Mistley Movers was created more by accident than as a new venture, it was started by a group of friends who were self teaching themselves beginner line dances . Margaret and I were asked if we would like teach them them some of the dances we had learnt over the years. So one warm sunny evening in May 2002 we went over the hall in Mistley and found much to our delight that they enjoyed the dances as much as we enjoyed teaching them the steps, so much so that  we found ourselves likeing it so much that we stayed.

It was in January 2003 that we decided to give ourselves a name, Mistley Movers, we took this opportunity to also advertise through the local newspapers for more beginner's interested in joinng Mistley Movers who wanted to learn line dancing from a beginners or improvers level,  from that date on the club was born.

We meet every Wednesday evening from 7.30 - 9.30pm at Furze Hill Social Club Mistley in Essex (next to the old secret bunker).

So if you like Line Dancng or would like to learn line dancing, why not come along one night and give Mistley Movers a try.

The two instructors, Margaret and Lawrence are always pleased to have new dancers join the club, they make every effort to teach new dancers the steps and the phrases associated with line dancing.

We are a small, but very friendly club, everyone is there to enjoy themselves and the dances, so why not come along one night, you never know you might like it.

NEW DANCE CHOREOGRAPHED BY MISTLEY MOVERS:
Weekly Programme

We aim to teach one new dance per week, we continue to teach that dance for the following 3 weeks, making a total of 4 weeks in which time we hope that everyone has mastered the dance. If after the initial 4 weeks some of the dancers are still not confident with a particular part or parts of the dance we will continue going over the dance for another week or so, we do not want to just teach and move on we want everyone to feel confident with their dancing.

At the end of each week we try to leave the last 20 minutes or so for requests this could be for a very old dance or one that we recently taught, it gives the dancers the opportunity of keeping the dance fresh in their minds, and ours!!!!!!!.

We also arrange social evening at the weekend throughout the year, where we can put into practice everything that we have learned over the weeks, as well as having a good time as well.
Margaret & Lawrence.
