                                                                 Brett Alderton

Tragically died as a result of a racing accident whilst riding as a guest for Kings Lynn in 1982. It was generally accepted that he had the potential to go 'all the way' in the sport. After a relatively quiet first season for the M K  Knights 1981 he came back to Groveway after a winter of practicing back home in Australia and was a different rider, demonstrated clearly in the last match he rode in  M K colours just 5 days before his accident when he scored a 12 (paid 15) point maximum.

He was a favourite with the fans, riders and just about everyone who met him. He was quiet, polite and always had time to talk to you, and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Many distinguished people paid tribute to Brett, and the respect in which he was held, not only by fans but also riders, was shown at his memorial meeting that year when the World Champion Bruce Penhall took part along with others international stars of the time including Billy Sanders, Mitch Shirra, John Cook, Shawn Moran, Kenny Carter, Bo Petersen, Hans Nielsen (future multiple world champion), Chris Morton, and Phil Crump (father of current star Jason). A fitting tribute.

I have only a few photo's of Brett but i felt if i was going to make a website about Milton Keynes Knights, he deserved a special feature.
