I really cannot remember how i came to know Mark, i think i just got talking to him one day at Groveway and it kind of went from there.
Throughout the winter of 1981 we spent every sunday at Bob Humphreys training track at Elfield Park which later was re-developed and became home to the Knights. His dad and he used to drive down from his home in leicester in their Morris van with the bike on the back and pick me up and off we went. It was fantastic, combining my 2 hobbies of speedway and photography the photo's on this page are some of my favourites and i think the best ones i ever took
Unfortunately, Mark gave up the sport at the start of 1982 but not before lending me his old leathers and helmet so i could have a try for a day. I was petrified and got lapped 3 times by the late Simon Wigg in one race !.
