In May 2003,on a cold and grey day, a memorial garden was dedicated to the
memory of those who died on 22nd March 2003.

The garden was created by
members of 849 Squadron.
Many people left flowers, in memory of the
young men who died, at the gates of RNAS Culdrose in March. The majority of
these were composted and dug into the garden as it was being made.

views of the memorial garden during the service of dedication.
The garden is seen by the squadron as a
place to sit and contemplate: or just to enjoy some fresh air! Click on
the thumbnails to see the garden in its infancy in May 2003, as it was in
April, July and September 2004 and, most recently, in September 2005.

The Memorial Stone has now moved to its new home in the
Memorial Garden of RNAS Culdrose.

their old buildings for a new 'home' on the other side of the airfield.
