Carlsberg pocket radio

This odd looking set was
issued by brewers Carlsberg in 2000 to commemorate the World Cup. As a rough
indication of size, the box has about the same dimensions as a packet of twenty
cigarettes. It is fixed tuned with the option of two spot frequencies, 909kHz
and 693kHz, which most in the UK will recognise as belonging to BBC Radio 5, the
UK's main radio sports/news channel. Both frequencies have to be catered
for as their strengths vary considerably around the UK, and are strongly
influenced by atmospheric conditions as well as geography. I haven't opened it
up, but as this little radio seems quite sensitive I suspect that it is a
superhet.
