A rather nice example
of an early 1960s pocket radio, made in Japan by Fuji Denki Seizo, serial number
663077. This set has the American Civil Defence spot frequencies marked in
the tuning scale so date of manufacture predates 1963. Coverage is medium
wave only, 540kHz to 1650KHz. The circuit is a conventional six transistor
superhet employing germanium transistors powered by 9v from a standard PP3
battery. Sensitivity is excellent. In good overall condition, the only blemishes are a couple of small chips out of
the rear of the case, a missing badge from the lower left front, and missing fold-out stand. Not bad at all for a radio
that's around forty years old!
A previous owner's name and address is also on a little label inside the back.
I wonder if he's still there after after all this time?
