Directions to "The Pines" Guest House Newtonmore
DIRECTIONS TO "THE PINES"


 Public Transport

Public transport will bring you to within 300 yards or so of "The Pines", either to Newtonmore's railway station - which is served by trains from London, Inverness, Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh operated by First Group Scotrail or to one of the village's bus stops which enjoys express "Citylink" services from Inverness, Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Those arriving by car or bicycle will find that the house is some 300 yards from the Perth Road and the Sustrans Carlisle - Inverness cycle route from which it is well sign-posted There is ample off-road parking for motor cars / cycles whilst we can afford undercover, secure storage for pedal cycles.  You may find the following directions helpful:

Arriving by Road:

From the South and travelling North on the A9:    

Shortly after the "Ralia" Highland Gateway picnic area, turn LEFT on to the B9150, s/p Newtonmore and Kingussie.

Follow the B9150, crossing two bridges.

Pass the "CHEF's GRILL" transport cafe on your LEFT.

Shortly afterwards, at crossroads, turn RIGHT into Station Road s/p STATION and presently "PINES HOTEL".

Drive for approximately 300 yards down Station Road where you will see the entrance to "The Pines" on your right.

From the North and travelling South on the A9:    

Approximately 10 miles South of the Lynwilg exit (South end of Aviemore), turn left on to the A86, s/p Newtonmore, Kingussie, Fort William and Spean Bridge.

At the T junction turn RIGHT towards Kingussie.

Drive into Kingussie, STRAIGHT AHEAD at the traffic lights and continue straight through the town.

Leave Kingussie and follow the A86 into Newtonmore.  Continue to the South end of the Main Street where the road forks.  Continue straight on (B9150) s/p Perth.  Pass the Esso Garage on your RIGHT.  Shortly afterwards at the crossroads turn LEFT into Station Road s/p STATION and presently "PINES HOTEL".

Drive for approximately 300yards down Station Road where you will see the entrance to "The Pines" on your right.

From the West and travelling East on the A86:

On entering Newtonmore village turn Right onto a narrow minor road signed "Station Road".  After approx 200 yards, approach a crossroads. Give way at the crossroads but then proceed straight on.  Drive on for approximately a further 300yards down Station Road where you will see the entrance to "The Pines" on your right.
