Holy Jovus! Between 2002-03, audio drama production company Big Finish brought the comicbook heroes of 2000AD to life with a series of twelve CD adventures for Judge Dredd - the future's hardest lawman - and mutant bounty hunter Strontium Dog; following the success of the first season of discs, a second series of six CDs were released in 2004. After taking Judge Joe Dredd to the limit
in the hijacking drama Judge Dredd: Dreddline and then pitting him
against a cadre of vicious warrior clones in Judge Dredd: Jihad,
Big Finish brought me on board once more for a story that took Dredd
around the world to the mysterious and little-seen territory of Vatican
City, the papal city-state ruled by the Judge-Inquisitors of the Catholic
Church. Grud is Dead brought the tough Mega-City Judge back
together with the dandy vampire exorcist Devlin Waugh (star of stories
like "Swimming on Blood" and "Red Tide"), leading to a
buddy-cop adventure with these mismatched heros challenging a group of
religious extremists. JUDGE DREDD: GRUD IS DEAD When the camp vamp himself - the occult adventurer Devlin Waugh - crosses paths with Judge Dredd, the lawman finds himself in the midst of an international incident. Ordered to escort Waugh to the Vatican, Dredd is plunged into a deadly conspiracy lurking within the Holy City's secret cloisters. And soon this unlikely duo find themselves challenging the very heavens themselves as they dare to question the will of Grud...
