Doctor Who

Adventures in time and space...

Peacemaker cover DOCTOR WHO: PEACEMAKER

An original novel based on the new series of Doctor Who, with the 10th Doctor and Martha Jones.

The peace and quiet of a remote homestead in the 1880s American West is shattered by the arrival of two shadowy outriders searching for 'the healer'.

When the farmer refuses to help them, they raze the house to the ground using guns that shoot bolts of energy instead of bullets...

In the town of Redwater, the Doctor and Martha learn of a snake-oil salesman who's patent medicines actually cure his patients.

But when the Doctor and Martha investigate they discover the truth is stranger, and far more dangerous.

Caught between the law of the gun and the deadly plans of intergalactic mercenaries, the Doctor and Martha are about to discover just how wild the West can become...

Featuring the Doctor and Martha as played by David Tennant and Freema Agyeman in the hit series from BBC Television.

After enjoying the recent return to our screens of Doctor Who, I was delighted to be asked to write a novel featuring the newest incarnation of the Doctor and his companion Martha; I really liked the chemistry between David Tennant's manic-dynamic Doctor and the competent and smart Martha Jones, and when editor Justin Richards asked me to tell a historical story with a science-fiction twist to it, I jumped at the chance.

Peacemaker is the 21st in the new series of original novels and is set in the Wild West of the 1880's - a place and time not visited by the Doctor since the era of William Hartnell, in the 1966 story "The Gunfighters". For continuity buffs, the book's storyline is set towards the end of the 2007 season of Doctor Who, between the television stories "Blink" and "Utopia".

Peacemaker will be on sale in all good bookstores from Boxing Day.
