Champions from the year so far!
Grades 3 - 7 April 2002

April saw the second round of the grades 3- 7 competitions. The west midlands competition took place at Crystal Leisure Centre, Stourbridge on 14th April and Bradwell T.C. had eight competitors looking for qualification through to the next grade.
Competiting for the first time was Simon (Alan) whom represented Bradwell in the 018 Mens, grade 4 category. Simon performed well for his first grading competition but unfortunetley missed out on qualification through to grade 3 but finished 1st in his section.
Also in grade 4 was Nicola, Claire and Sammy. Both Nicky and Claire were in the U13 catergory and both perfromed well. Claire this time qualified through to grade 3 with Nicky just missing out. Claire was leading at the start then slipped to 2nd after her vol (2.9) routine was completed. In the finals her routine started brilliantly but unfortunatley a incorrect landing on the final move lost her valuable marks and she slipped out of the medal placings.
Sammy was competiting in the under 15 catergory and started of brilliantly unfortunatley she also lost out on qualification by a small margin and remains in the grade 4 section.
In the grade 3 section was Leigh, Laura, Lisa and Louise. Leigh stayed in grade 3 whilst she is working on her grade 2 routine in time for a competition in October.Leigh whom has already qualified to go through to grade 2 soared through both her set and vol. (3.0) to maintain consistent scores of mid 8's which enabled her to qualify through to grade 2 yet again. Leigh also finished 1st in her section leaving the rest of the group way behind, well done Leigh!
Laura and Lisa both competed for the first time in the U18 grade 3 section and started off excellently. Laura finished both routines with minimal of errors and scored well on her vol.(4.6) but was left baffled by some of the marks given on her set routine. She unfortunatley missed out on qualification through to grade 2 by 0.2 but sailed through completing all routines to earn her a well desrved 1st place.
Lisa who early that morning came back from Majorca showed great commitment and determination to succeed. Lisa unfortunatley made a slight error in her set routine which dropped her scores drastically, but made up for it in her vol. (4.6) scoring mid 8's which saw her climb back up to 4th position just missing out on a medal. Well done Lisa and you can now go and sleep!!!
Finally Louise competed for the second time this year at grade 3, 018 and this time performed to her potential. She scored mid 8's on her set routine and then high 7's low 8's on her vol. (5.0) which saw her qualify through to grade 2. Louise also finished in first place to take the total up to 4 golds!!!
Well done Bradwell T.C. a good days work!
