Yamaha Townmate T80 (Modified Fieldbike)
I purchaised my townmate as a mot failure for around 40quid. The backend was totaly rusted  but still usuable. I made some tempory plates to hold it up just for off road use.

Had 2 years out of it till my over sized bruv put to much strain on the poor old chap and it collaped!, and it layed up the top shed for over a year till i recently got bored and decided to get creative! see below
The bike is totally standard apart from the rust, it has a 80cc engine 4 gears (good runner) and back and front knobblies for that extra off road performance.
Me jumping the townmate before the backend fell through.
Reconstuction of the backend frame
I decided to start a fresh and cut the backend off(due to the rust) and make a hole new backend. Quite an undertaking for me, but i had a rough idea what i wonted to do and i had alot of metal lieing around.
I used the original rod that holds on the suspension and built a support up around it. I first bolted all the strip steal to the bike and prepared it for welding (3months in total). It took a while to cut/shape all the strips to the bike and drill the holes to bolt it together.
The finished beast
After welding the subframe to the bike I painted it to prevent rust(not to fussed aboat the colour (hardly matches). I used a sheet of rubber and cut it to shape the underneath of the mud guard to prevent any further corosion. I also cut the original seat to fit the new frame.
Well the backend is absolutly solid now, no fat kid will destroy this field bike again!
Found these pic's on ebay,  couldnt believe my eye's someones actually made a moto'crunch with a monoshock conversion(the text with it said the swinging arm+monoshock is off a DR125 and the front forks are off a KX80) well its insired me to find some for me 90!
