Horsecar No 8, built by G.F. Milnes of Birkenhead in 1899, is seen at
Crich in 1996.

Starbuck car built in about 1874 and still running in the 1950's on the
Sardine Factory peak hour tram service but by then in use as a trailer.

John
Stevens of Long Island USA restored this beauty in 1970. It is a bob-tail
car or single entrance car. Note the authentic Victorian lettering style
- so typical of this era. Photo courtesy of Llewellyn Bros, Wilkes-Barr,
PA., USA. The tram was a John Stephenson product. John Stevens is one
of the World's greatest experts on tramcar evolution from the 1830's onwards.

Another
Starbuck car of Birknhead UK built about 1868. Note the very early ladder-type
stair which was used until John Stephenson patented the enclosed and spiral
stair that we are now all familiar with.
