Tricia’s experience and qualifications within creative and performing arts and education span more than 25 years. She has always had an interest in writing, music and theatre and started working as a freelance historical and theatrical costumier in London in the mid 1970’s. Then in the late ‘70’s she enrolled on an Art Foundation course which led to her going on to take a course in Interior design. Meanwhile she continued with her work as a costumier and on moving to Norfolk in the early 1980’s she became known internationally for her historical and theatrical costumes, gothic and dancewear designs.
Meanwhile over the following 15 years she pursued her interest in theatre and became a scriptwriter and lyricist, actress, writer and cabaret entertainer. During the late 1980's’s she founded a theatre company specialising in murder mysteries, for which she directed and wrote the scripts, and became lead singer with The Jazz Connection.
As her career evolved she became more and more interested in working with children and having gained her qualifications in playwork, youth leading, NVQ assessing and counselling during the 1990’s she started to use her experience within schools and with groups studying for their NVQ’s.
A life changing Near Death Experience during a serious illness in 1991 led Tricia to found and direct The Light Foundation, and organisation later to become a charity, which helped people in need and offered educational projects for children.
It became known for two projects: ChildWise, which provided toys and clothes to children who had lost their belongings, working mainly in Norfolk and Sayana Wolf Trust, which provided aid to Native Americans in Wyoming and South Dakota, and ran bi-cultural educational projects in the UK (see www.sayanawolf.org). The organisation ran for 10 years until 2001.
Around the same time she worked in the UK and abroad as a Spiritual teacher and writer and founded a Personal development technique called Secret Garden.
Today Secret Garden has helped hundreds of people to become empowered and more in control of their lives and has developed from talks and one off workshops to a more structured program of courses lasting from one evening to three years and beyond. 2004 sees the teaching of teachers for the first time since its birth in 1991.
Since Tricia's illness in 1991 she has suffered from ill health. Convinced a few years ago that diet played a big part, she started to study nutrition which has led to her working with children with behavioural issues and vegans with food allergies. She is now a qualified nutritionist and is working on her second book for vegans with food sensitivities. (Her first book was Glad to be Vegan)
Tricia has, over the years, had many articles and poems published, and has created many pieces of art including Angels. She continues to investigate the Human Psyche, and how we have both positive and negative influences within us, which affect our lives, personalities and our everyday world. She is interested at how our lives can change by adjusting our attitude or thinking. To delve more deeply into this she studied social psychology and is currently studying biological psychology along with developing the teachers course in Secret Garden (course diary can be found here)
