LOTR - Bag End Inn: Rivendell

Elven-refuge in a steep and hidden valley in the Angle, founded in SA 1697 by Elrond. Most of the Elves of Rivendell were Eldar, including the great lords, Gildor and Glorfindel. Rivendell survived the war of Sauron because of the great Elven-power there; in more peaceful times it was a centre of lore and counsel. Valandil son of Isildur, was raised here, as were, later, all the Chieftains of the Dunedain. There is no record of when Rivendell was finally deserted. Also called, The last Homely House.
