SIMON GOODING
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Simon has worked in professional theatre since 1981, beginning his career as a technician at the Bristol Hippodrome. In 1985 Simon became head of department at the Theatre Royal Bath later embarking on a touring career in 1987.
From 87 to 94 Simon worked as Master carpenter on many touring and West End Productions whilst also running his own scenery and furniture workshop.
In 1994 Simon was asked to Production Manage a tour of “Great Expectations” for Apollo Leisure UK and subsequently continued Production Management of many productions including “Summer Holiday” Tommy Steele’s “What a Show”, “Buddy”, “The Rocky Horror Show”, “Smokey Joe’s Café”, and the Aldeburgh Opera Festival.
Simon joined COORDINATION as senior Production Manager in 1998 where he worked on many productions worldwide including “Smokey Joe’s Café” in Istanbul, “Sesame Street Live” touring Germany, “Soul Train” West End and touring, Jim Davidson’s “Dick Whittington” and “Cinderella”, “Songs for a New World”, “Rosie and Jim’s Music Party”, and three world premier stage musicals of “Casper”, “The Mask” and “Spider-man”.
In 2002 Simon returned to freelance Production Management providing services to numerous productions including “The Rocky Horror Show”, “My One and Only”, “White Folks”, “Sesame Street Live” in Bahrain, “Nixon’s Nixon”, “Vincent in Brixton”, “The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas”, “A Little Night Music”, “The Bakers Wife”, “The Holy Terror”, "Simply Heavenly", "The Witches", "Love Shack", The Postman Always Rings Twice", "Footloose", "The New Statesman", "Chicago", "Guys and Dolls", "GREASE", "Never Forget", "Aspects of Love", "High School Musical", "The Wedding Singer" and most recently "Guys and Dolls" in Australia.
Simon occasionally works for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art assisting in the training of future technicians.
Simon also provides Production Management services for themed corporate event companies, and is Production Consultant for European Events Ltd.
