Sister Morticia Gothlet-Tog
Welcome to Sister Morticia's Cell

Sister Morticia Gothlet-Tog of Perpetual Sarcasm
A founder member of the Order of St Derek of Jarman
Sister Morticia is our resident artist.
She attempts to capture the beauty of the visions of the Order and to paint those who are important to us.  She designed our coat of arms and created likenesses of the Order.
With the encouragement of Brother Gomez, her pictures delight and charm us and her sarcasm entertains, but is no match for the acid wit of Novice Novak!

She spends many hours a day, painting in solitude with only the Beloved Cherokee for company, listening to the music of Novice Novak as it drifts through the halls of the Order's rambling mansion and gaining inspiration from the stories of Brother Gomez.
"Illic can nunquam exsisto nimium niteo"
Sister Morticia, like all of us, has her own eccentric obsessions.
We have tried to dissuade her, but Adam Cooper is her Swan and her muse and so she must paint him  again and again to try to capture his beauty, grace and strength.

Though the more cynical among the Order might whisper the suggestion that she just likes gazing at his muscular physique, she assures us it is divine inspiration.
As a woman of the cloth, how dare we doubt her word? But she does paint him rather a lot...

Beloved Cherokee - a cat with a most artistic temperament
Sister Morticia seldom leaves the safety of the mansion grounds, but if she does she takes on guises in her desire to spread the word of the Order of St Derek of Jarman.

She is also known as Glitter Mission and, as Swan, she has another life outside the Order.

Walk through the secret door to Eden...

Brother Gomez shares his visions of the sacred dreams of Eden and they have become our scriptures.

Brother Gomez alone is blessed with eyes that see Eden, but Sister Morticia tries to capture the faces of those he meets in that magical world and bring them forth to share their secrets with travellers who dare to walk the hidden paths.

Beware - Eden is tempestuous and filled with danger!
Every face that Sister Morticia paints conceals mysteries or madness;
they shock, they love, they tempt and some will torture.
Victim, victor, predator, prey... but can even they say which is which?

No one is ever quite what they appear and the unwary wanderer is easy meat...

Do not enter Eden unless you are brave of heart and open of mind.
Psychoanalyst: 'Are you worried that analysis might stop you being creative?'
Artist: 'I will be in a mess if I come here with agoraphobia and you cure me of painting.'
