Shieldaig is a picturesque village of whitewashed cottages. It is situated on the West Coast of Scotland on the banks of Loch Shieldaig.

The village of Shieldaig is 120Km (75 miles) from the nearest airport in Inverness. This journey takes around 90 minutes by road. There are several airlines operating flights to & from Inverness Airport.

There are two major car hire companies with offices at the airport, Hertz and Avis.

To get to Shieldaig from Inverness by road leave Inverness on the A82, stay on this road through 2 roundabouts (taking the 3rd exit at each). After approximately 2.5km you will reach another roundabout, here you should take the first exit onto the A9 and follow this road for around 9.5km. Next take the second exit at the roundabout onto the A835 - stay on this road for almost 30km where you should turn left onto the A832 for a further 40km before finally turning left again onto the A896 where in around 27km you will reach the outskirts of Shieldaig.

To reach Shieldaig from the South (Glasgow) you should follow the A82 (Great Western Road) North for a little over 200km and then turn left onto the A87 for another 70km. This will bring you to the A890 where you should bear right and follow the road for 23km before finally picking up the A896 to take you into Shieldaig.

From the North (Ullapool) you should travel Southeast on the A835 for 50km then turn right onto the A832 for another 40km. At this point turn left onto the A896 for 27km to arrive at Shieldaig.
