SYNOPSIS

The ne’er do well Larry Durrant (Laurence Olivier) is the brother of Keith (Leslie Banks), an eminent barrister who is on the verge of becoming a judge. Unfortunately for all concerned at this time Larry accidentally kills the estranged husband of his girlfriend Wanda (Vivien Leigh). An innocent man, Evan (Hay Petrie) is accused of murder and remanded for twenty one days during which the two lovers make the most out of their last days together. Then it is the trial day, Evan is found guilty and Larry intends to hand himself over to the police. However, Evan has a heart attack which leaves the lovers free to go off together.
