Cuckoo Day - 27 April 2002
"Many years ago the people of Marsden were aware that when the cuckoo arrived, so did the Spring and sunshine. They tried to keep Spring forever, by building a tower around the Cuckoo. Unfortunately, as the last stones were about to be laid, away flew the cuckoo. As the legend says, it were nobbut just wun course too low".
Various activities throughout the village [Procession, Morris and Maypole Dancing, bands and much more.] Also a stroll to the site of the Cuckoo Tower on the preceding evening.
So come up and see us - the water taxi may even be running from the canal by the railway station.
