My name is Paul Boot, from Hall Green in Birmingham, England. I am currently trying to find out information on Gertrude Alice Dugard, for a research project into her holiday diary.
Gertrude was born in 1880 and in the 1901 census for England, was a pupil at a boarding school in Wellington, Shropshire. She lived prior to the First World War in Charlotte Street, Birmingham, England and became a school teacher. During July 1914, she embarked aboard the White Star Line steamship RMS Cedric, bound for New York to visit family in Hartford, Connetticut, writing a diary of her travelling experiences along the way.
If you have information on Gertude Dugard, her family in England or America, please e-mail me and I will include your contribution when publishing the diary & project on a web site.
