Connel Bridge, originally a rail bridge then converted to a road bridge, the rail link was part of a failed attempt to link to Glasgow. The bridge was built in 1903.

Connel airport, unknown to many Connel has an airport. Used in world war 2 by the RAF as a base now it is only used for training and leisure.
